“CRCC Asia started off as a provider of English language teaching programmes in China before Edward Holroyd-Pearce, its director, realised Westerners wanted more than just teaching experience from the country.
The London-based company this year sent 1,000 students and graduates to China to take up industry internships tailored to suit their interests and CVs.
Mr Holroyd-Pearce, who read Oriental studies at Cambridge, said: “We found that many people wanted business experience in China and that the country had so much more to offer than just teaching opportunities.
“We recently had six interns taken on full time by Accenture, so it shows we are doing the right thing.”
