My internship in China with CRCC Asia was one of the best things to happen in my life. Whilst I have to admit that I was a bit nervous before as I didn’t know much about CRCC Asia before I actually got my internship. But once I landed in China I was able to have one of the greatest months of my life living and working for a month in China. My only regret is that I didn’t do the two month program, since the month I was there went by way too fast.

I had just assumed that even if it was a total disaster it would at least look good on my resume. Little did I know that it would be one of my biggest advantages in this tough job market. In nearly every interview I have had while looking for a job after college I discussed my time in China. It started as a talking point and then transitioned in to a platform for me to present myself and why I would be a good candidate for the job. It was a great ice breaker as not many recent graduates have international work experience and interviewers were all interested on how I was able to land such a great opportunity for myself. I have talked more about my experience in China in my interviews than all my other work experiences combined.

Impacting on my job search was only a fraction of the benefits that CRCC Asia has given me. Since going to China I have met an amazing group of people from all around the world. It was eye opening and one of the best experiences I have ever had, not only was it an amazing experience being a minority in a country, but then as one of only a handful of US students that participated in the program that month I was a minority even in my group. It was so refreshing to be able to meet and become friends with other young adults from all over the UK and Europe. I have made friends that I continue to stay in contact with today.

I can’t recommend CRCC Asia enough for students and recent graduates. These few paragraphs don’t do justice to the benefits that my internship has had for me. It was easily the best experience I have ever had in my life and it has been one of the most beneficial things I have ever done for myself personally and professionally.
