CRCC Asia’s Upcoming Conference Schedule

CRCC Asia is excited to be attending multiple conferences throughout the world this fall including NAFSA Regionals, Australian Collaborative Education Network (ACEN) Conference, and ASET, The Work Based Learning and Placement Learning Association Conference. These conferences give us the opportunity to partner with universities to present sessions, build communities of knowledge, network with current partners as well as build new partnerships.

CRCC Asia will be attending the 30th Annual European Association for International Education conference held in Geneva, Switzerland, Tuesday, September 11th to  Friday, September 14th.

CRCC Asia will be attending the PACIE – Pennsylvania Council for International Education, Global Ready Graduates: It’s on Us held in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania from Friday, October 5th to Saturday, October 6th.

Jillian will be presenting the session: Embedding Professional Outcomes into International Internship Programming

 

This session will provide examples of global education initiatives that purposefully connect study abroad programming to a student’s longer-term goals and aspirations. This session will begin with an explanation of current initiatives but unpack further by providing best practices and current resources as well as a roadmap for implementing best practices into new or established programming.

Following the session Jillian will deliver an interactive workshop, Extracting Professional Development from within International Programming. This session will focus on how providers and educators can build resources that translate global skills into career readiness. Taking a workshop approach the session will be broken into discussions, collaboration and exploration.

CRCC Asia will be attending the Australian Collaborative Education Network Conference (ACEN) – WIL Creating Connections Building Futures held in Brisbane, Australia from Thursday, October 4 to Friday October 5, 2018

Alex will be presenting a showcase on International Internships Improving Employability. With the ever-evolving industry that is education, students have never had more choices to increase their chances of employment and future success through other means than universities. It is up to universities to be ahead of the curb, and through partnerships with third-party providers, Australian universities will be able to provide experiences to students while mitigating the risk to the university itself. CRCC Asia in a position to worked with Australia universities to utilise WIL funding to provide students with a unique industry experiences in a work placement related to their field of study. Students will have access to over 700 companies across Asia, providing an opportunity with real-world experience, while having the ability to use the skills learnt at their Australian university in the workplace. Showcasing the Australian University education system in the Asia market. The Showcase will give examples of the use of WIL funding through a partnership with CRCC Asia to provide international internships.

CRCC Asia will be attending the Australian International Education Conference (AIEC) – Empowering a New Generation held in Sydney from Tuesday, October 9th to Friday, October 12th.

Jillian will be presenting the session: Expanding your Global Internship Portfolio with Providers: Creating a roadmap for selecting third party providers.

 

Demand for global internships has risen over the past decade with each university choosing to handle demand inhouse or seek partnership with providers. Beginning with a brief comparison of global internship models, this session will create a roadmap for vetting a new global internship provider and how to determine best strategic alignment, beginning with how to source and determine new providers, followed by defining the parameters for review. Drawing from a university and provider perspective the session will be able to highlight overall best practices.

CRCC Asia will be attending the Colloquium on International Engineering Education – Building Pathways, Sustaining Programs  held in Newport, RI from Thursday, November 1st to Friday, November 2nd

Megan will be presenting on Engaging industry for sustainable program building – Funding, Internships, Advocacy etc.

 

This panel presentation dissects the landscape of specific industries for global engineering internships. Megan will speak about the importance of global experience in Asia for the 21st century engineer, honing in on industries including automotive engineering. Megan will join representatives from University of Connecticut, University of Rhode Island, G-MEO and Global STEM Education Center in this discussion.

CRCC Asia will be attending the NAFSA Region VIII conference held in Richmond, Virginia from November 6th – 9th.

Jillian along with co-presenter Seth Weil from BCA Study Abroad will be presenting the session: Unpacking the Study Abroad Experience to enhance employability outcomes post-program.

Megan and Jillian will be presenting the session: Unpacking the Study Abroad Experience to enhance employability outcomes post-program.

 

While we know that 15 of the 21st century skills can be obtained through study abroad experiences many students lack the skills to identify their global competencies and apply it to their resume, cover letter, or narrative. This session will review exercises and support that an advisor, university or provider can utilize in helping students returning from their program apply their experience to their career readiness.

CRCC Asia will be attending the The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) annual convention held in New Orleans, LA from Friday, November 16th to Sunday November 18th.
