British History
The UK has a long and varied history which is widely celebrated throughout the country. Beginning with Stonehenge, through to the Roman occupation of Britain, which ended in warfare and the rise of the medieval period. The end of the medieval period is marked by ‘the black death’ and the War of the Roses, which broughtthe rise of the Tudor period and arguably Britain’s most famous king: Henry VIII. Fast-forward to the end of the 18th century and we’ll arrive at the start of the industrial revolution which shaped modern day capitalism. A little over a hundred years later brings us to the beginning of World War One and subsequently World War Two.
All that history and more is captured around the country via monuments and museums alike, most of which are free to enter and truly fascinating.
