My overall Internship in Shanghai, China through the CRCC Asia program was one of appreciation, education, insight into the Chinese culture, and a continuous growth in respect for all things Chinese. I would strongly suggest employment in Shanghai, conversing with the people and working in a Chinese workplace.

I learnt an astonishing amount interning at CTR Market Research, I experienced things I never thought I would and my confidence in my ability to work internationally so much.

Being part of the Chinese working environment has resulted in a monumental growth in my respect of the work ethics of Chinese people and has given me skills that I will be easily able to take into future positions. Shanghai is an extraordinary and diverse city – I cannot wait to return.

My internship in Beijing with CRCC Asia was a truly exciting and rewarding experience. Having previously travelled extensively through Europe and Asia, the Joint Intensive Language and Internship program satiated my desire for travel and cultural exploration, whilst also providing me with the professional development that I wanted to help me begin my career.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the social side of the program, with many cultural events and nights out in Beijing’s thriving social scene. I made great friends with fellow interns and CRCC staff members, and thoroughly enjoyed living life as a Beijing expat. The connections I made throughout my time in Beijing not only resulted in many new friends, but also a new job! I now work for CRCC in the newly opened Sydney office.

Having spent one month studying Mandarin intensively and interning in Shanghai with CRCC Asia I can safely say interning there was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The language teaching at Mandarin House was highly effective, and myself and my classmate learnt very quickly as a result of the well run school and organised teaching schedule.

Now I have made friends from different cultures, explored a great Asian megacity and I have something special to write on my CV. Definitely a program I would recommend to anyone interested in learning Mandarin and gaining a true cultural experience.

Firstly I would like to very much thank CRCC for giving me the opportunity for me to broaden my horizons, earn fantastic life experience and meet so many great people in my 3 month internship in Beijing. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left I felt I could always contact CRCC if I had any problems or concerns with any matter.

Most weeks CRCC would put on an event. These events included networking events so you can hand out some of those business cards, cultural events such as an acrobatic show and with all the new interns coming in every month there is always a welcoming banquet which is a great chance to meet those new interns and pass on your valuable experiences you have picked up.

The CRCC internship program is certainly something I would recommend! I had the best 3 months of my life!

My Internship in Shanghai can only be described as unbelievably rewarding, inspiring, eye-opening, and … fast. Everything was so fast! It wasn’t just the length of the internship; it was the language, the businesses, the people, the trains, the cars! It was a bit of a change from the good ol’ Brisbane life that was for sure and I loved it. It was great to be able to combine work and travel in such a way that it satisfied cultural curiosity whilst providing the professional development that will hopefully give me a leg-up in my career.

My Internship in Shanghai through CRCC Asia was absolutely fantastic. I worked with Shanghai Expat, Ringier China where I had the ability to work in teams as well as independently in this international workplace. I have gained a greater understanding of China and how they have dealt with global changes and trends across many international markets.

I would definitely recommend this internship program. I know I will easily be able to apply all the skills and knowledge I learnt to any future positions that may arise. Shanghai is a fascinating city that I plan on visiting in the near future.

It was in the context of the Australian Federal Government releasing its White Paper on Australia in the Asian Century that I decided to apply for an internship in Beijing, China through CRCC Asia. The paper highlights Asia’s transformation into the economic engine-room of the world, and the opportunities that this affords to Australia. The most significant player in this shift is China; the region’s largest economy and Australia’s biggest trading partner. In deciding to take the internship opportunity through CRCC Asia, I reasoned that in this environment having work experience in China would be viewed favourably by prospective employers. I also decided that the cultural and social experience of living in Beijing for a month made this opportunity much more attractive than doing an internship at home in Australia.

Overall I had an unforgettable experience in Beijing and look forward to returning. I would strongly recommend the CRCC Asia internship program to any student.

This is strange for me as I have to rewind just 7 months back to July 2012 and the last 7 months have flown by in a way that I cannot put into words as it was fast, magical and surreal but I will do my best to translate it into written word for you.

CRCC deals with the boring stuff, holds your hand, gets your foot in the door and the rest is up to you. Put it this way, if you want to do something that is going to separate you from the herd and if you are willing to be whisked away into a world that doesn’t judge you paper but on what they see you have to offer and what they can offer you, pack your bags now and get yourself on one of their international internships.

Although it has been more than a year since I have completed the internship in Beijing, the memory of that one month experience is ultimately unforgettable. During that time, I worked as a research intern at Javelin Investment Consulting Co., Ltd. where I was assigned to do some basic bench marking research on a specific project and was given the opportunity to perform market surveys at various local stores across some districts in Beijing. That taught me an invaluable social experience where I was given the chance to speak to the locals and inquire about their businesses. Most of them were very friendly and they were able to provide us with some good information for the market research.

Nevertheless, my participation in the CRCC Asia Internship Program had been an unforgettable journey. I would definitely recommend this program for those who enjoy travelling overseas and would like to gain an international experience in a professional working environment

I spent my 2 months in Shanghai working for WA Optimum Healthcare (WHC). WHC is a healthcare company that provides 5-star services in healthcare such as regenerative medicine but also cosmetic medicine. Primarily my tasks involved understanding/researching the main driving force of the cosmetic surgery market in Shanghai, and using this knowledge to promote the company’s services as the most reputable in Shanghai. It was certainly a very challenging task but also very rewarding.

My internship in Shanghai has also influenced me to direct my career path towards sales and marketing – a long way away from my science background. Since returning to Melbourne, I have also decided to undertake formal education to learning Chinese as a second language for personal development but also to broaden my job opportunities in the future.
